Odd problem with sunroof

So when I got home today, my sunroof wouldn't close. It would go all the way to the front but not make the extra half inch it needed to rise up and seal, leaving a small gap in the front. It seemed to be higher on the right hand side. So I removed the cover for the cable on the right hand side, and it closes completely - however, it bulges up a quarter inch on the right side when it's closed. When I tried to put the cover back on, I had to leave the front 2 screws loose - when the sunroof gets to the front, the cable cover bulges up like it's being pushed. If I screw it in tight, it doesn't bulge and the roof stops just short of closing.

Is there something twisted on my cable that is causing this bulge? What should I do?
