    Default Replacing rear muffler...

    ....with two glasspacks.

    Good idea or bad idea?

    *flame suit on*

by the way, how loud would it be compared to stock?

it would be decently loud, man. i ran glasspacks for many years, you will attract attention, and some of it will be from the boys in blue. as long as that doesn't bother you...

something else to watch for is highway drone. it can make you insane.

look at incorporating butterfly valves in the exhaust, people sell things for this that run off the engine vacuum. I think it would be an awesome idea. Pity i already put a stock exhaust system on mine when mine went south.

This is the thing i am talking about http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=auhttp://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=au although buying them off him is a stupid idea $550 AUD get lost.

Ive got an awful lot of road noise as it is, will I still be able to carry on a phone conversation or a convo inside the car with the glasspacks or will it be too loud?

as far as I've noticed, we don't really have any noise ordnances around here, or at least theyre not really enforced. We have rice burners with their fart cans and harleys and classic muscle cars with sidepipes out the arse, too

good point. but what about the rice burners? I would be more worried about one of those kids pulling a gun and blowing me away than someone on a harley or a 68 charger

i just mention gang harassment bc where I grew up the hell's s have a bunker, so the cops would use muffler laws to hassle the gang.

i have recently removed my rear muffler and now everyone knows when i pull up to there house. its not that bad at low RPM but once you step on it you can really hear the roar. i would imagine that it would be twice as bad with glass packs.
