    That is a E38 750 engine room.

    M73 is bigger, 5.4 Liter engine and HP is also more, 240 kW.
    M70 has 220 KW.

    that would be a nice upgrade for an old engine ... especially if you're buying it second hand from 1999 cars ... thats 9 - 10 years difference, but I guess if needs the DMEs with it to run, but how about the EML ? is it different too?

    It is all different. I-bus system, and our cars still have the old wires for each connector.
    All wiring looms in engine room, all control modules are different, and then is the question if the oil pans are too big.
    I know it from one guy in Germany who installed an M62 4.4. litres engine in an E32. Needed quite a lot of mods.
