yes,I have driven two 540 six speeds lately, both(although one was considerably more impressive than the other) amazed with the civility and power even in sixth the accelleration is impressive, and feel much more civilised than the I6 and are much quieter. However neither car were in as good a condition as my 535 and the steering and brakes felt "wooden" in comparison. The bodywork and interior condition are paramount for me

go with the 540i sport. the M5 has that goofy steering wheel and those stupid stick on carbon fiber door things. Im not sure if its the pic but the interior looks beat. Things like that give me an idea of how great the PO trated it.

Pretty steep prices, but I'd take the m5 over the 540

$21500 is clown shoes ludicrous for the 540. $28500 is pretty retarded for the Euro M5 as well [this is touring 3.8L great condition money]. On the M5, those nasty wheels, the non-airbag ugly [Mitsu Lancer?] 3 spoke steering wheel in the M5 tell me to RUN.

if it wasn't for the price, you could always change **** on the m5 - it's not like anything there is permanent... come on guys...

Oh, and theres something goofy about the hood of that 540, it's way too high which makes a huge gap between the nose panel and the front top of the hood...
