I have a 95 540 with about 191,000 miles. Last year I had the UUC short shifter installed during a clutch job. I understand that these short shifters can make the transmission a littler harder to shift since you lose leverage but my transmission is clunky and really stubborn to shift particularly between 1st and 2nd gears. Also, it feels like there's some mis-alignment somewhere, like I have to rattle the shifter around sometimes and get it in the perfect position to shift gears.

Has anyone any similar experience and do you know if this is fixable or symptomatic of something else?
