    Default differential swap: 3.23-->3.64

    has anyone on this board swapped a 3.64 differential from a 88' 735i into their 525i w/ 3.23? are the input flanges different or is it just a simple direct swap?

    rom

    btw, automatic if it matters

    I think my 3.91 came from a e32 and the flanges were different but you could swap them from your old one

    theres a lot of heresay on the input shafts so all I can say is I hope it is an exact fit. the output flanges change easy and dont need any other work besides maybe seals or something altho mine were so damn tight I needed to hammer them on for whatever reason..."since they all are swapable" I got lucky and nothing broke during instal or since then. There is not any solid information on these things besides pictures and measurements but there are varients of that information as I found out first handed.

    If you do need to swap the input I wish you luck, I can help walk you through it though.
