Default I was at the stealer the other day and

I was at the stealer the other day and I parked up next to an E38 on 18” M-Pars same as mine. Well I assume so! Mine are the 8.5 & 9.5 front & rear respectively.

Anyway, what stood out was the huge lip/overhang from the rim! There was no way you could curb the rims! Studying them a little further they were continental 235/50 on the front not sure about the rears.

Is anybody running these, do you know which model they would be?

I want to run them as 245/45 18” and 275/35 18” if I can getaway with it!

Many of the low profile tires are made with "rim protectors" a lip of tire that sticks out away from the rim, sometimes about 3/4".

You can look on tire rack at some of their larger pictures and see how much protection some tires offer. The specifications of the tire also mention this feature. The Bridgestone 050's I'm running also has a rim protector.

The 730s I had had very little protector, but the 750s (245's) have such a large and deep rim protector it looks from the rear like stretched tires.
    Actually looks very nice.

I can shoot you a pic if you want.

It's hard to tell from this picture, but you can make it out. It's not as pronounced as some of the other manufacturers.

Exactly the same as my car, I have the same wheels, similar color, and that same lip on the tire. It's nice, but I never touch them to anything anyways even when parallel parking. I guess they're wife-proofing devices, and I'm not quite to that stage of life yet...

I run Yokohama Advans V103 on my car, they have the same thing. As JR pointed out before, many low profile tyres provide the same feature:

as can be seen from my cheap old Fedrals I have virtual no lip. Although I suspect the 235 fronts are probably a little too narrow anyway! Just inching every last mile out of them, but they seam to be hanging on of longer than expected!
