    Default Check Control Owners Manual

    Hello All,

I just got a "Check Control Owners Manual" on the OBC today. What does this mean? I don't have an owners Manual

Default It means you should look up "check Control" in the

    owners manual.

Since you don't have an owners manual, I suggest you buy one from BMA or a dealer. I can't imagine not having one for reference, in a car as complex as an E34 (or a Model A Ford, for that matter.).

I have the Bentleys Manual so I guess I'll look it up in there when I get home. My wife was was going to get me an Owners Manual for Xmas but no dice.

I don't think the owner's manual nor Bentley's discusses this one. Usually it happens when it's time for a new battery. Either charge your battery or have it load tested. Autozone will do it for free & if you need a new battery, their $59 Duralast is a good one and comes with the vent kit for mounting under the rear seat.

    Default Check your fuses...

Check your heater control valve fuses especially. My failing heater valve blew a fuse, and brought up "check control". Don't know how, don't know why, but the new heater control fuse got rid of "check control" for me.

Default The only thing the owners manual say for check control is

fault in electronic system.... I would go along with what Gale said and check the battery and charging system for anything out of the norm.
