i would definitly say so...its also recommended from bmwe34.net....i believe my 3.91 came off a 750 and all i had to do was swap the input and output shafts...only drawback is cruising at 70mph @ 3600rpm
Would a swap from 3.23 to 3.46S be worth it for my 93 525i? Found a good low mileage 3.46S dif locally for cheap. There is also a 3.91 from a 750, but I don't know for sure what would have to be done to use it.
I've had great results with other vehicles, but usually it's been a bigger jump.

I think I'll go with 3.46 then. It's a 75k mile dif and is totally clean with just the slightest seapage around the input. I'd like to keep the rpms closer to 3000 at 70 than 4000. Too bad a cheap 6 speed with OD wasn't an option

yeah, i really need a 6th gear with this 3.91!
With an OD I'd go 4.10

I have a 4.27 LSD if you have the six speed and want more ummph. I am going back to 3.91 but my car has an automatic. Real difference is the better traction with LSD from only one wheel traction. I am using too much gas now with the 4.27
