    Default Can you test coil packs ?

    Is there anything you can do to test any suspect coil packs,on an M60 ?

    theres a ohm test but i find most of the time the bad ones ohm just fine, if the check engine code doesn't tell you which cylinder is missing i pop coil wires one at a time till i find the one that doesn't effect the miss, (or use my kv meter)

    you can do the stomp test to retrieve the codes (do a search if you don't know how, the code list will probably come up in the same search)

    I thought only US spec cars had the stomp test feature?

    That is correct, U.S. models only, was required from somewhere 1988 or so, Bill B once mentioned that.

    That's what I figured, Winfred didn't notice the "UK Spec" in his profile, which is why I mentioned it.

    I didn't want him to drive himself nuts trying to do the stomp test.
