Evidence of coolant leak? Air bled?
My 1989 520i Bmw is overheating. It is possible that the water pump is bad because I have changed head gasket, cylinder head and thermostat. I flushed the radiator and all other hoses are intact. The fan clutch is relatively new. Is there any test that I could get done to check whether or not the water pump is working properly?

if it's not leaking and the bearing is not worn and loose the pump is doing it's job, the later twin cam 325/525 had a pump that could cause overheating but the old m20 motor didn't have that problem, air in the system, a collapsed radiator, a bad fan clutch, a bad thermostat or a blown head gasket adding air to the system is the common problems
