the S62 is in insane double vanos beast!
you will also need a new driveshaft, rear diff, and rear axles.
as well as front shocks and springs.
also you will need a bunch of stuff from the E34 540 so they fit in the engine bay... like the entire cooling system, maybe the braking system too.

Hope you have a shitpile of money time and patience....

I have been in this car, and it is an absolute weapon! it makes my M5 feel so slow! Both guys have their cars running really well now, with the exception of the issue of the rev limiter (engines are limited to 5000rpm because the ECU can't find the E39 ABS unit), but that is being worked on now, and a solution will be in place shortly.
Yes, it is a lot of work, and it will cost a lot of money, but both Bill and Mike are really nice guys and will help you where you need it

hehehe yup my mechanic told me what parts i need to upgrade/relocate/replacethe engine will be comming from japan (surplus) don't know when will it'll be here..i'm hoping this month, i gave partial downpayment only
here in the philippines average price of an 2nd hand 2001 e39 m5 is 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 pesos roughly thats around 52-$73,000 USD because taxes of cars here is #$%& .anyway I bought the e39 m5 engine with tranny here for 250,000 or $5,216 US hehehe here thats a bargain considering Its very hard to find a surplus BMW engine here in the philippines

I assume the swap is made much easier if you're coming from a 540i.Originally Posted by bmwrp8

Yes - a 540i makes it easier. Don't forget to add the cost of custom headers to the bill.
I've run against the Australian car at Winton raceway - he just walked away from my M5 on the straights - and he was limited to 5,500 rpm.
What you miss is the brilliant noise of the inline six.
