    Default Help!!!!

This whole time my tranny has been whining through all the gears. Yesterday I was driving and when I stopped I noticed gear oil leaking through the bellhousing, like drip after drip. I was about 30 miles from home so I decided to hurry up and get it home. It got louder and sounded like grinding as I got closer to home. Im assuming from lack of oil in the tranny. but 4th gear will never make any grinding noises or even whine. 4th gear is perfectly normal. I recently changed the throw out bearing and clutch. I thought the TO bearing was making the noise but obviously it wasn't. Im thinking about replacing the whole transmission. Any help would be great. Im stationed in Germany so I have 1989 BMW 520i. 5spd.

sounds like low on fluid symptoms, find the leak and fix it. Make sure you fill the trans with the correct fluid for your particular trans too.

    We all need help.
Better use a more meaningful title for the problem you have and then more people will read it and answer.
Where are you stationed in Germany?
Maybe I can help you to find a suitable tranny, if necessary.
Or ask on the German E34 forum
    http://www.e34.de/
Use the VIN decoder on my website and find out the exact model/type of the tranny.
