I had a BavAuto chip on my old E34. Dyno results were good (10rwhp and about 14ft-lbs of torque peak gains) but it pinged like mad. With all the good reviews of the EAT chip I don't know why anyone would buy anything else.
i have been browsing for a performance ECU and i noticed that the vast majority of people on this forum use the EAT chip. personaly i was leaning towards ordering the bavrian autosport one. is their any real difference between the chips. pros and cons exc.. ? any advice would be appreciated.

I ran a BavAuto chip in my car for a 1 1/2 years that the PO had installed, before I ordered an EAT chip and found out the bavauto one was in there! I guess it worked fine, but I can't compare either with stock b/c I've never had a stock chip in there. Biggest improvement from going from BavAuto to EAT was STARTING!! It started somewhat long and lumpy before, now the engine turns over a couple times and goes! Definitely seems to be an improvement for low rpms too. RECOMMEND EAT!
