that first article has a really unnecesary negative bent. No one has discovered a "cure" for cancer, what has happened is that researchers have discovered a promising chemical that looks like it can kill cancer cells. It also looks like it will be safe for human use.

here is a key quote for you from the second article:

No trials have yet been undertaken in human patients, only in human cells outside the body-and the laboratory mainstay, rats-but officials remain hopeful

I hope that you have some idea of the process that drugs go through before it is decided that they are fit for human consumption...as someone who works in that industry, I would be happy to shed some light on it if you have any questions.

It's just the tone of that article, which insinuates that since this drug is not on shelves tomorrow that there is some kind of conspiracy, is hardly what I would call journalism.
