    it's amazing that alpina still actually uses those dated wheels on new cars and even worse, those fugly pin stripes. doesn't the m5 already look bad enough on its own?

    I actually like the wheels and the pin-stripes on the E60.
    I don't really care though, the E34 is quite obviously the best looking 5-seres ever made. E39 doesn't do it for me unless it's lowered, has the modern front end with a 'sport'(M-tech is good, just not stock or ricey, anything OEM to the higher models) bodykit, with larger wheels on it as well.

    What's wrong with Alpina rims? They are timeless in my opinion.

    AFAIK, stripes are optional extras. I do agree with you that they look 70s.
