    Default 1993 525i battery

    Hi everyone I am new to BMW and i have just purchased a 1993 525i .I need to get to the battery and it is under the rear seat .How do you get the rear seat cushion up?

    grab the front edge, and PULL

    ...or like this if you need more "heft" to get the seat up aftr years of not been removed...

    Please use the correct battery! It must have a proper vent that can be connected to you car's vent tube. The vent in an after-market battery must not get pinched by the seat or the battery hold-down bracket. You can use a larger battery than the original (you'll see the extra room) and they seldom cost more, but make sure whatever type you use is a recessed-terminal (European-style) battery so the seat doesn't contact or short the terminals. Lots of places will sell you a non-vented battery or not hook up the vent. Make sure it's hooked up and working properly.

    Autozone Duralast 49DL battery (with vent kit) is an excellent/popular choice and it is made by Johnson controls. That is if/when you need a new battery. It costs about $75 US

    Also you may want to search archives to check for other battery related info.
