As a longtime Washington ferry rider and a new e34 owner, I have to say I like your car and your gig. You a ferry captain? I used to ride those things all the time from Whidbey Island to Mukilteo (and back), and of course I've been on the other runs as well.

Captain, eh? I'm an engineer. We like to let them (the deck officers) think they run the boat. We allow them to steer and blow the whistle but the boat is run from the EOS (engine operating station). Below is the view from my desk:

The MV Tacoma is temporally out of service. Will be back on the Seattle/Bainbridge run the end of February.

VERY nice, I love the mindset.
My cousin and some family live up in Tacoma, maybe you'll see me around if I visit. The cous usually is at McChord AFB, but he's in Al-Taqaddim, IQ right now.

Come on, and be honest... Have you ever said : (insert scottish accent here) "I'm sorry capt'n, but she's giving all she's got...I can't give you no more..."

Here's a pic of my boat with yours truly at the helm. A wee bit smaller but much less maintenance & very cheap docking fees.

I used to sail deep sea where I'd be gone 3-4 months, but gave that up. The M/V Tacoma is a ferry boat that goes back and forth between Seattle and Bainbridge Island, a 35 minute trip.
I have a work week some would kill for. I do one week on, 12 hour watches for 7 days (84 hour work week) and one week off
