Keep your resonator, and a magnaflow will do well. Remove the resonator, and it'll get real loud.
I am considering doing a Magnaflow or a Borla, and high-flow cat (leaving resonator unless someone knows where I can get one that would sound really good) on my 1992 525iT. Anybody have a sound clip of this on an M50? Any other thoughts? I want a deep rumble at idle, but not insanely drony on the interstate, and fairly cheap as well. I would love a Remus, but money doesn't allow that anytime soon.

If I was to buy an E34 540i, what would you all recommend for the exhaust? The whole shebang.
I saw this video of an E39, and I love the way it sounds-

Does he still have the resonator on that?
I say this because I hear sounds from these videos where they deleted the resonator, like this one-

What is the popping? Backpressure? The other car didn't have it, what causes this noise to NOT occur? Can someone explain?
