Hey Every1, i've got a 89 520i and went out to my car today to drive to the shops and found that sum1 has snapped my fuel flap off. How would i fix this ? as it's completely snapped off

the part number for the hinge is 51171928197 - however check this for your model they may have changed it
How do i remove the broken part of hinge from the fuel flap and the broken part of the hinge next to the fuel cap?

pry them out/break them. the new hinge just pops back in.

Yes, and that spring is a separate part from the hinge, so make sure to order that too.Originally Posted by shogun
I just replaced mine about a month ago, I ended up having to break the hinge anyway just to get it out, and had to basically chip away at the plastic pieces that attach to the body with a screwdriver to get that part off.
