Default Will the Z3-M shifter work in a '92 525i?

My buddy has one and we're doing my trans so I'd like to know if it will work.

    Z3/M3 shifter, part number 25 11 2 228 384 on the bottom:

It will work as-is but should be bent, which can be accomplished by pinching it in a vise between a few sockets as fulcrums. Ron Styger did a write-up on it a few years ago with pictures, but I wasn't able to find it readily on Google. I have the e36 M3 shifter in mine, missing part number is 25 11 1 222 955. I'm thinking the Z3-M shifter would be way too notchy for my taste.

Yes it will. Once you work it a bit, won't be as notchy. I love it... but no comparison :\ perhaps next e34 meet we can arrange test drives? haha
