50w is still less than the existing headlights, but i dont have any idea how much power they draw at start up.The voltage is very high but the current is less than std incandecents afaik.
When I go pick up my ballasts today, does anyone know if 50w HID's are too much fro the car as in electrical or can I do it? Or should I just shutup and deal with 35w?
Haha thanks, replies right away are appricated.

Gone but not forgotten
well on running current the stock bulbs are 55w, the starting surge is probably pretty high with a ballest, not sure why they would need to make a hid that powerful, 35w is already a butt load of power
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
Well the 50/55w is for "racing" but I figure I I'm allready paying $50 more for almost 1000 more lumens couldent be that bad haha
35w is fine. Don't overkill. How's everything coming along? Did I help with the wiring or not?

It's the starting surge that kills you. I don't know if that's increased ~50% with the 35w-50w upgrade as well?
Also, if you run relays to supply the ballasts with power, you will avoid the problem of burning your LKM, etc... now instead of running all that power thru that wiring, you're just using the headlight circuit to tell it to turn on/off, and the power's being supplied elsewhere.
Ok, so I just bought the 4300k 35w HIDs...it seemd the best, and cheapist lol...
The bulbs are out of stock so I will get them by FedEx in a couple days..then put in my Euros and HID's sweet lol
