I've recently got a similar sound in reverse. Not a slight reverse but I had to back up about 20 yards and the noise previously described happened. I'm thinking that it is more likely to be the reverse gear rather than the guibo/drive shaft as there is no noise in forward gears. Does this sound right? Oh and the noise came from where the tranny is (under the shifter). Sorry-talking about 4 speed auto.
