Default 96 328i sedan Central locking issues???

Hello, could someone please tell me how to restore the central locking system so that all doors lock and open from the drivers' door? I now have to lock the passenger door separately each time I lock/ unlock the car. I have putzed around with it for hours without success. Is it tied to the trunk lock?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    thx

You will probably need to replace the lock actuator if only one lock is not working. Have the same problem on our 96 328i sedan.

    This link should help.
