    Default Craftsman multimeter with thermometer

    Hi All,

I am planning to buy one of these for the thermometer function. Its on sale for $10. Has anyone used the thermometer in it? How reliable and accurate it is?

    Thanks

Reliable? It's $10. If it ever breaks then buy a new one!

Anyway, it's got a 10 amp current range so it looks pretty useful to me. Thermocouple is likely to be accurate to a few degrees C, depending on the temperature.

I bought one a month ago (same price) and have only used the VOM functions but I can tell you it doesn't even give the same voltage reading when checking an AA battery between the 2-volt position and the 1.5V Battery Test position, so I anticipate no great accuracy from the thermometer.
