you will need the transmission, ecu, engine, and all accessories from the 530i SE. Most everything should swap easily.
Can anyone help me i have bought an imaculate 1990 520i SE alas the engine is well goosed with a lack of timing belt and a piston with a surface comparable to the moon it has serious issues. However i am about to receive a rather tatty 1989 530i SE but its engine is lovely! How feasible is a transplant of hearts?!?!?!?

1995 540i/6 - Misc Parts donor for above.
can the transmission from the gearbox from the 520 be fitted to the 530 block and will this give a lower ratio?Originally Posted by bimmerd00d
Thanks for your help
different block, if auto you should be able to swap the bellhousing on the tranny
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
alas tis a manual box on both cars may have to butcher the clean white one to bring the tatty red one up to par seems such a shame as the the 520 is so tidy a car apart from hearsed engine!loads of service history and great body work.besides i just prefer white cars anyhoo!
