I'll check to see what pricing I can get now. I only have modified ones now. If you're into the whole deal, this is the place to be:

I can't comment on the combo because I haven't dealt with the now "newer" body types like L1S or L2T.

I want something that I can leave in the glovebox for months at a time, and pull out and operate at 100%. Should I use alkalines or rechargables?

neither one will last you months and months... Lithium ion rechargeables are the way to go if you need long battery life.

Really, even just lying around? I'm not talking months of use, just standby. May end up going with the 3w led Fenix L2T and some nice rechargables...

Yep--he's talking about just laying around. Lithium Ion have a 10yr shelf life.

I was referring to the "neither one will last you months and months" part. 10 year shelf life, I'm fine with that.

Get Lithium (NON-rechargable) AAs and they will have power when you need it.... even when it's bitter cold outside. Almost a toss it and forget it scenario.
