you need to replace the window sliders inside the door and re-lube the tracks. leave the tracks you see alone. The sliders range from 80 cents to a couple bucks each mattering where you get them. There are 2 for each door.
i have been noticing ever since i bought the car if i have my drivers side window down about half way my window will make an awuful rattling noise. some of the other windows will actually squeal when going down. what can i do to fix this? i was thinking about spraying some silicone into the window tracks but does anyone else have another idea?

Easy to replace, the sit on the bottom slider
My driver's window made an awful noise before i replaced those. They were a snap (literally). It took more time to get the door panel off. You'll need a screwdriver, phillips for the 2 screws that hold things onto the door panel, and flat helps to pry the sliders free from the window regulator.
Wow, an inexpesnive part! Thanks for the suggestion/link, I will pick a couple of these up as well. I think regular use really keeps things smooth and quiet, the front windows and doors are more silent than the rears for me.
