Anyone?
I want to resolder the headlight relays in the LKM but the most basic thing is eluding me... how do I get the LKM out?
I noticed 3 plastic tabs at its base (facing inwards towards the engine) that appear to be securing it but pushing these tabs in - using 3 screwdrivers at the same time - doesn't seem to acheive anything.
Is there some secret to removing the LKM?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone?
Unless something's dramatically different between your 540i and my 525i, it simply pulls out.

pull
All i did to get mine out was use a screw driver on the right hand side of the LKM apply a little pressure to push it up, and also pull up with your hand on the right hand side, comes out easy as pie
Thanks all.
Effectively after being nestled in the same socket for over 11 years my LKM didn't want to leave and I was concerned that its great resistance meant that I might have overlooked something holding it.
But... suitably encouraged (and emboldened) by your answers I simply pulled - hard.
And it eventually let go.
Haha, that's the ticket. I thought there was something up with mine too, but, like everything else on my car it's just been in the same place for so many years that it was practically molded in there.Originally Posted by Eric540i
