No man, go with what you'll be happy with. No need to spend extra money to impress others.

It's ALWAYS a matter of what makes ME happy, I am more concerned with creating a balance of looks, drivability and practicality.

I wasn't sure if the 10's would fit without rubbing, thought maybe it was overkill but with the 255 tire it sounds like it is quite workable.

I'll sleep on it some more and see if I want to go staggered or square. I'm in no rush.

Question? What is the hub size? Like you guys are saying they are hot looking.

I am guessing they have the larger hub size so they fit the E39's as well as the rest of the models although hubcentric rings will be required for anything but.the E39. It simplifies production for the manufacturer.

255 clears with room to spare. 265 I believe clears well. But I've heard bad stories from a couple 275 and most 285

I noticed while shopping for tires that the 235/*-17's come in a 40 and 45% aspect ratio.

Which one are you guys using?.

The only aspect in the 255/*-17" width is 40%. Sound right?

Rondell wheels are imported exclusively by the "The Wheel Exchange".......there is another source, but I don't know if the pricing is any better. Try Bekker's Imports in Georgia. The owner, Jos Bekker, receives a weekly container imported directly from Germany and was the original Rondell importer, albiet grey market importer as Rondell didn't have an official US distributor before The Wheel Exchange stepped-up......one last thing, those wheels weigh a ton when compared to modern day wheels....but the look, or should I say the large lip, is quite enticing.

I am open for suggestions as to what tires I should get. I have my favorites but technology changes.

I mainly use my car for long distance travelling with an occasional hard tossing in the corners. The tires will be used in the summer only, a plus if they do rain well.

I don't really want a tire with a treadwear rating below 200 and prefer one no harder than 300.

I'm sooooooooo not getting into this again, but......a 17x10" w/ +10 or +15 offset is a TUNER fitment...meaning roll rear fender lips. Unless of course you mount an undersized tire like a 255/40-17. The correct tire for a 10" wide rim is a 275/40-17, but if you wish to be cautious, mount a 265/40-17 on the rear and a 235/45-17 front. My own personal preference would be Falken 451, or the new replacement 452.

I've been doing the research and reading a lot of reviews on tires.
I found many reviews were 2 years old and I know what was hot then isn't neccessarily hot now.

I pulled the Beyerns off my car today. 8 x 17 with 235/45-17 Toyo Proxes4's. Clean-up tomorrow and they go on Craigslist.

I'll go with 235/45's on the front for sure. The jury is still out on the rears.

I noticed in some of the pictures that the sidewalls of the 255's on 10" rims are canted inward slightly, appearing stretched onto the rim somewhat.............................
