1. There is a mark on the dampener
2. The Haynes manuals are not so good, the Chilton worthless.

Quick one this, just because I'm 40 miles away from the car at current... is there a TDC marking on the front flywheel? Or is there a reason why the haynes/chilton manual wont tell you how to time the crank up?
I want to check I've not accidentally knocked the cam timings out by just a few degrees.

Bentley's are definitely the best, but rare in UK ... it took me a while to find a used one ... they really are very good, despite only covering US models ... ebay has CD imitations if you are desperate, but I don't think you can beat the real manual - if I knew then what I know now about it, I should have imported a new one from US.
