Hi everyone,
quick question. Do I need to remove the alternator/water pump belt

before I can remove and replace the A/C compressor belt?

It is difficult to tell by looking under the hood. Both the 5 and 7 series Bentley manuals don't indicate that I need to remove the longer alternator/water pump belt prior to being able to remove the a/c belt, but when I look with a flashlight it seems like I will have to.
Thanks in advance for any helpful information!

i removed mine in 5s with a sharp steak knife, no messsing around with the other belt or the AC belt tensioner.
of course i didnt put a new one in... that probably requires the main belt off, which isnt too bad, but if you dont have a new one, id get one before hand.
the car runs fine with the AC belt removed by the way, but dont push the AC button.
