Default Upper shock mount and Pitman arm

I have to replace the upper shock mount on the rear passenger side of my 1994 525I, the rubber has disintegrated and it is very noisy. The Pitman arm on the same side is in bad shape (probably as a result of the bad shock mount). Any helpful hints on doing this myself? Quotes from repair shop are $$$$.
    I appreciate any feedback!

Can't speak for the pitman arm (never done one), but the upper mount isn't that big a job. If I remember correctly you'll need to remove the rear shock which is just the big bolt down the bottom (22MM possibly) and the three small ones on top (under the parcel shelf - 13MM) then compress the spring to get the old shock mount off. Fit new one and refit the shock.

Usually rear shock come out easy but I had one rear shock that just refuse to come off the upright.

If you get the shock off and have spring compressor it should be too hard to changer rear mount.

Pitman dogbone is pretty easy to do..
