    Jake,

I have a '95 530i with 90k mi. on it and I'm having the same problem. I had the lower control arms and bushings replaced yesterday and I'm still having the problem. It helped some, but didn't eliminate it. Now, they are telling me that maybe it's the driveshaft that is out of balance.
I'll keep you posted as to the progress. Please let me know what you find.

maybe you need to find another mechanic that inspects instead of guessing.

Any vibration is always the result of something being out of balance. Replacing the bushes may damp it down a bit but won't cure the problem.

I've only had this happen once, in that case it was the wheels out of balance. Start with the most likely stuff - tyres and wheels. It's cheap to get them checked.

    Def not wheels, brakes, tracking.

Once up on ramp should be fairly easy for the trained eye. Thought it might have been a really common problem with e34s but doesnt look like it from this site.

    Cheers
