Default Sticky : Live Chat on IRC

***Please sticky so the readers can be aware of a potentially beneficial tool rather than having to play thread tag!***

A reminder to those who may have seen the previous thread about live chat.
An invite to new members who may not have seen it before.

Several of us host live chat for the forum members on IRC.

    Server is irc.rizon.net
    Room is #bimmer-info

All are welcome to join in. The tentative chat night was Sunday (around 8-10pm EST). This is up for debate. The other current operator is in Australia so it is possible to host two days or atleast two times to satisfy everyone's time-zones somewhat.

If you're new to IRC or the concept of it, let me start by saying that the software is free, small, and easy to use. (yes... free... ignore that 30 day timer, it never does anything even after 30 days). PC and Mac users can get on, there's software available for any platform.

The tutorial for PC and Mac users is here : http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthr...94845#poststop

The link for client software for PC users is here :
    http://www.mirc.com

I'll be on tonight in case a sizable number of people try the chat tonight.

(Note : If the chat thread finally get a sticky, I'll change the topic so its not redundant!)

bump for additional info : there'salmost always someone online in there, chat isn't limited to Sunday's only.

Honestly, I don't think I could possibly make the how-to any simpler, but if anyone is still having trouble getting setup, feel free to ask for specifics and I'll see what I can do.

For anyone thinking this is some new-fangled system of communication... its not. It's older than E34's are

It's funny how the population of the IRC channel trebbles whenever bimmer.info is down
