Default Well **** the answer is simple.

    Slow.

But what the test of time from 1989-2006...? Not many automobiles can endure that.

i timed mine a few times, actually i took a video of the dials and then timed the video, much easier... can't remember the exact time but it was just under 8 seconds to 96km/h (60mph), with the eat chip... not bad for a heavy car with a 4 speed auto

My manual tells me my 90 535 auto does 9.3. The 525 is so close its not funny. I was kind of dissapointed when I read that because it feels a bit faster and stock 4.0L 6's aussie made do about 7 or 8 stock, so as much as I hate to say it, they are a bit faster. BUT not after 16 years they aint!

When I interpolated my quarter mile run, it came out to about 7.7 to 60 in my 525i

The manual is incorrect. Those of us here with 535ias are getting significantly faster time than that, and these cars are 15 years old!!

Im guessing that they geared the 525i differently so it could have more off the line grunt.
