What do you mean - do you have a link? Capacitors are electronic components - I can't see what connection (no pun intended!) there is with rust?

i read theres some deal you plucg your car into to stop it from rusting, think it was primarily for the old fords and stuff that rust before your eyes.

I've looked at the web site and I'm sceptical.

Galvanic rust protection is used for things like oilpipelines and oilrigs. To use galvanic protection on a car, you'd need a wire and an electrode for each place where rust can form - and I don't see a bundle of wires coming out of their box. Also, they talk about capacitive coupling - capacitors pass AC but not DC. Galvanic protection needs DC (just like a battery).

Finally, although they say their product is patented, they've forgotten to mention the patent number. How careless!

Well this technology has been used for years on big equipment, ie; snow plows and the like... so it's probably feasable that it would work in cars.

I saw this crap in JC witney in the early 80's for cars that self destruct in a year. something about clamping an alligator clip to the bumper and plugging it in.
