With the hood open, look at the base of the hood where it connects to the car at the hinge point. Move the hood slightly up and down so you can see all the points that move and those that don't where the hood is connected. There is a tube that the hinges are connected to, spray the ends of it with WD-40, also all of the hinge points that the hood shocks are connected. Work the hood up and down all the time you are spraying it to work the WD-40 into the joints. Now when you are finished and the hood is opening and closing with ease, spray lube the areas with a small amount of spray lithium grease. Spray the inside part of the black roller until it spins free. Directly above the black roller is a brass spring plate bolted to the hood, wipe it with grease, also grease the roller reciever located at the inside of the fenders.
Doing this along with new hood shocks will catapult your hood open the next time you pull the handle.
