Default OT: 57 aka lil coffee wont start

    Chevy 57 Truck
    90's 350 engine, turbo 400 tranny.

Have dead spot between Park and reverse and it's not deactivating kill switch so it's a wiggle trick with starter engaged to get it to turn over. Took off Hurst shifter booty, nothing there. Two wires/sensor type, one on either side of tranny, cleaned and recovered, but basically it appears to me (doesn't count for much) that it's internal right at the shifting linkage on the inside of the tranny.

any help or direction to DIY is soitenly appreciated.

    thanks,

    geoff

the electronic lead on the side of the trans is the detent (downshift solenoid). the kill must be somewhere else...sorry not much help right now.

Default On the turbo 400 its not usually internal on the tranny its

usually external at the linkage going in. IF this is the hurst shifter you have then its built into the shifter as stated here.... Also i think you need a fresh roll of toilet paper

needs a new roll of toilet paper sorry couldn't help it, it's limited on where the neutral safety switch can be, probably a unit mounted to the linkage about the size of a deck of cards and has some wipers inside that needs to be cleaned, a sanding pin/pencil eracer plus some dielectric grease and maybe a little bending should get it going

Sadly the TP canister, I come to find out, was disco'd before I bought it. At least it provides some amusement.

Thanks once again Bill for the dead perfect image of my transmission. If it's built into the shifter, that means it's under it like winfred said? So, remove shifter boot and shifter and it's under the preliminary linkage?

    Thanks for the help.

It is possible it is above the transmission under the floorboards. Back when I used the hurst shifters they would have a little POS button switch that was nearly impossible to hook up correctly, so was the reverse switch. Check for wiring when 'lils on ramps for strange wiring above the trans.
