rear bumper same for all e34's?

Just a quick question, was the rear bumper the same for all E34's? Would a older 525 rear bumper be the same as my 540i?

Probably. Look your car's one up by VIN here at www.realoem.com, then look on the page where you enter your VIN for the 'search by part number' tool. Enter in the part number and it will list all the cars with that part for you .

Perhaps single pipe e34s (518/520) has a different size exhaust cutout maybe? I thought the 520 had dualies... I guess you didn't select Euro as well as US?
