Im Currently Driving A Manual E34 525i. Ive Just Got Hold Of Another Decent E34 V8 Auto For Parts As The Chain Has Snapped But The Car Still Looks That Good Im Not Sure What To Do With It. Does Anybody Know If The V8 Lump Will Go Onto A 525 Gear Box Etc What Other Work Is Onvolved Or Is It To Big A Project And Best Just Breaking For Parts As Originally Intended.

YES MATE NOT INVESTIGATED INTO THAT YET I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR £200 AND THAT IS WHAT WE GOT TOLD THE CAM CHAIN HAD SNAPPED, I KNOW ITS GONNA NEED THE VALVES REDOING AT THE LEAST, HOPING FOR NO PISTON DAMAGEOriginally Posted by nizmainiac

dude you'll need to do at least half of the valves just to be on the safe side, i'm in devon , you in the pool yeah?

Sounds interesting, but I'm confused...I'm not sure what a lump is, nor why you'd want to put a broken engine in your 525?Which V8 is it, 530 or 540? Since it's so nice, and so cheep, what are second hand engines going for around there?
