    Default 535iM 1991 - headrest removal

My wife sits in the back seat these days, with our son, and wondered if the passenger headrest can be easily removed so that she can see a bit more out the front.
Is this straightforward? I'd hate to yank on the thing and bung up the works...
Thank you for any help, in advance, Thanos

    Hi Thanos,

Very simple, just extend the headrest to its highest point and get into the back seat. Brace your arms on the seat and pull up. It is very simple to do but requires a bit of force. Most likely your arms will flail the first time and you will smack the roof so just be ready. If you pull and it doesn't release then just pull harder

    Best,
    Rory

    Thanks Rory.
    I guess I need to ask a follow-up question:
Does it go back in by just jamming it back??

Sorry, forgot the usual disclaimer: "Installation is reverse of removal"

Just put the head rest back in and give it a gentle push down. Engage the motor to move the head rest inferiorly and the motor should grab hold. If you hear the motor spinning and nothing happening just apply a bit of pressure on the headrest and it will grab.

    Best,
    Rory

Got it. Thanks (from my wife, too).
