Default Opinion- EAT chip worth putting in M50 2.0l?

She's only a 2.0l and I believe the gain is 13hp (no idea what the torque is) for my engine (M50B20TU). Not sure if I'll even notice it although she zips along acceptably now since a reset of the adaptive tranny. I only want a little more oomph...local Bimmer guy says it's pretty much already engineered to it's max, don't bother...thoughts?

wish I had an answer for you---you've got a profile and everything. Unfortunately, I'm not the resident chip expert. Perhaps this bump will help.

I've only heard rave reviews about the EAT, and apparently its not only noticible in the power department, its more of an engine response thing.

Basically it just advances the timing and adapst your motor to take ONLY 91 octane+

It really wake my m50b25 up from the sleep...
More response, and quicker acceleration. About the HP gain, i dont think you will see as much as 13hp, In my enginge maybe i got 5-10hp extra from the EAT.

"response" meaning more utilization of exisiting power across the band? That'll work too as I live in a volcano-pocked (read: very hilly) region of Germany and find myself trying to "pick it up" quite often on the Autobahn when a trucker decides to pass in front of me on an uphill passing lane at 80Kmh!...keep it coming, great so far!

response i mean the engine "roars" quicker, and you`ll get from idle to 6500rpms quicker than before. Wich means quicker acceleration.

Mine seems to take alot less pedal to get up to speed with the EAT chip. Better response throughout, better gas mileage in many cases. Don't know about the 2 litre gains but definitely worth it on the 2.5
