    Default Instrument cluster help needed

    Hi all,
I have an 89 535 and I had a bulb burnt out in my cluster. Seemed easy enough so I took out the cluster, found the burnt out bulb, put it back in and when I started it and put my foot on the brake to put it in gear....the gauges went nuts. Of course I did it 2 or 3 more times and every time when I started it the gauges were fine, but as soon as I put on the brake they went nuts again. They would peg to the left then next time they would peg to the right. Also when I held my foot on the brake the tach would start to go up...not the engine revs...just the gauge.
Any suggestions as to what the heck I did.
    Thanks
    John
