    Default New member..New e34

Hey everybody... Been lurking this site for a while, but I finally bought my first e34 and I decided it was time to sign up. I found this '92 535im on bimmerforums for a pretty good price, bought it sight unseen and had it shipped to Atlanta about 2 weeks ago. It has its little problems and the paint was pretty rough when I got it. I've been working on the paint on and off for the last week and its just about how I want it. I ended up having to wetsand the whole car with the exception of the hood and the trunk (hood needs to be painted and Im currently looking for a trunk lid without a spoiler) to remove the fading factory pinstripe. Other than that its in great shape.

The car came with Sachs suspension kit, poly bushings, e39 540i sport wheels, EAT chip, euro ellipsoids, clear corners, Tri-flow exhaust and some sort of clutch/flywheel combo (could be a sachs, but its extremely stiff so I cant really say). Traded the wheels to my dad for his staggered throwing stars with 225/45 and 255/40 Proxes 4's. Anyone have any suggestions as far as euro bumper trim? My trim is broken in a couple places and faded.. I know you can get it from the dealer but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Also, what are my options for getting rid of the front plate?

Anyways, sorry for the novel. I've been at work since 6:30 this morning, So Im sure my grammar is not great at the moment.

Car looks great! Congrats on the big6, wish I coulda found one when I was looking.

For the Euro trim, contact Mel at www.abrahamsmotorsport.com

Great company, and very helpfull.. I hit a wall at the track destroying my front passenger Euro Trim corner and hes shipping me a new one for $34... Id also recommend the M5 license plate surround... goes great on a black car, and its a cheap mod.

Man, that is hot!! That is the affordable E34 of my dreams. Follow hakwuzhere's advice. AMS has a very good reputation, and those parts will bring out the best in your car. I'd do some clear tails too, but that's just a matter of taste. Who did you buy it off of, if you don't mind my asking? It looks familiar.

    I'm jealous.

Where do you see $34? Was that just for the one side? I am actually interested in getting the set.

nice car and welcome to dot info!

you've already got the answer about the euro trim, so here's the answer about the front plate. BWM makes a filler for that area. It's a black insert that has "BMW" in relief on the front. You take off the plate frame and it just snaps in.

I got mine from BMA Autoparts (google them, they're your friend) for something like 25-35 dollars. If you order it online be sure to type "DOTINFO" in the coupon code area for 10 or 15% off the order.

    Again, welcome!

aaahhhhh T-stars! They are the ultimate wheels on these cars... of course IMHO. Cars without front plates look naked to me but we have to have them on in OZ so maybe I'm just used to it. Welcome to the fun!

I like the T-stars, but I had them on my e28 too and I'm a little bored of them. I'd really like to get some staggered parallels, MK's or BBS'. I'll probably just take the covers off in the next couple days just for something a little different.

the rear plate filler looks good, I have one on the e30, never knew they made them for e34's. Where can I find a 540 lower valence? Is that just on M-sports?

Saj3n: Do the eibachs really drop the front that low or is that just the picture (or shorter spring pads)? I really wish mine was just a little bit lower in the front. The sachs is a little soft for my taste as well. I was thinking about Ground controls, but they seem to be hard to come by these days.

Yup! They sure do. I had Jon K. from the forum throw the Eibachs on and they do drop it quite nicely. They have adjusted just slightly, a few mm, as they are starting to settle. Looks even better. I'll have a few new pics up tomorrow if you're interested.

With these springs the ride is a bit stiffer, but handles lovely! I'd say it decreases body roll by at least 40% from what it was before.
