If there was no BMW dealer or independent BMW mechanic nearby, where would you take your E34 to get the AC fixed? And by AC fixed I mean repair a leak, fill up the refrigerant, and pray my compressor still works.

check with jon k if your compressor failed...i believe he has a couple for sale

I agree w/Golden One. You can evacuate the system yourself also using an old refrig. or window a/c compressor to pull a vaccuum. Replace the drier and all the O-rings you can get to.
