    Default Tightening Cylinder Head Delay

i had a brand new cylinder head installed on my UK E34, M20, 1990. this was in Sept 2002 and i was supposed to go back a few weeks later to get the head tightened, tappets done etc (i think), but guess what, still havenīt done it. Please feel free to zing me, i deserve it. Anywaz, please can you tell me if I should still have it tightened, and/or tappets done etc. What things should I look out for. I donīt believe there is any oil leakage, etc and power seems ok. i have had the car for 5 years now. Any comments will be GREATLY appreciated.

Buckwheat, I would leave it as is if everything including power seems ok. Tightening the bolts after so long would probably "denaturize," in the tiniest way, any "age-old" seals that formed over time.

If it isn't broken don't fix it.
