    Default 16.125 @ 85.51MPH last night

Did my first run ever at the track last night, my 93 525i 5spd did a 16.125 on the first run, and on my second run I got a 16.7 @87mph (Dropped the clutch too soon and bogged 1st gear). This was with the spare tire, rear seats, and trunk speakers still in (person who I was supposed to leave that crap with didnt bring his truck, so I was stuck with it).

Whats odd is that on my first run, I went up against one of the two other BMWs there, a 330i auto, and beat him - he got a 16.434 (with a chip, but he wouldnt say which one), but I also met a guy with a 325i stick that was running 15.2s (with the shark chip).

Hopefully, if I get a EAT chip and shedding some weight, I should be able to get it into the 15.5s.

Reaction times were .850 and .750

Faster than a 330 auto? wow. That's pretty surprising.

Who knows. He said it was a 330, but the thing was de-badged, so I guess it could have been anything, but it was definitely slower, not only in the shifts, but I was pulling on him in 3rd gear.

The 325i 5spd on the other hand took home some 15.2s and 15.3s, way better than mine.

Not that I don't believe you - just seems surprising. From all the right seat work I've done on track days, I've decided you never really can estimate what's "fast" just by looking at it. Of course, this is roadcourse work...slightly different.

Great times and mph for a 525i, I'm hoping my 535i will break the 16.0 barrier.

What elevation are you at, and what were your 60' times?

Yes, Im in gainesville, Fl. I went to Gainesville Raceway for test and tune on wednesday nights. Me and some of the mech engineering guys went out. I'll probably run again next wednesday if anyone is interested in coming out, but I probably won't run after that until I get a chip for the car.

It was decently cool out last night, somewhere around -21F. Oh yeah, silly temp sensor needs to be replaced. Seriously, somewhere around 65-70.

Dunno elevation, I'll trust Ryans 167 Feet.

Most BMW IRS setups don't care for dragstrip style launches. Were you getting a lot of wheel hop ?
