    Default 525iA Gas Mileage

So on this last tank of gas I babied her. Here's what I got when I stopped to fill back up...

That's the most I've ever gotten.

I think the autos have longer gearing than the manuals dont they, so your engine would be turning at pretty low rpm at 60mph.

I dont know if I could drive for long at that speed, its so boring lol

Actually, I wish the overdrive was geared higher. I thought the 5th in the standard was taller the the overdrive in my auto.

My 95 m50 auto with an EAT chip does about the same. For example, if I set cruise at 60 mph on a level road for several miles, I can see 31-33 mpg sustained on the obc. Your highway average is outstanding. These cars are really great on gas if driven easily. As others have said, it is hard to drive so slow.
    Thanks,

My best on a recent trip to Colorado was from Evanston, WY to Fort Collins, CO at an average of 77mpg I got 25.9mpg. That's with my 535im and 3:64 gears (about 3200 rpm).

Nice! I was surprized to see a nice 28 mpg today after filling up, driving 20 minutes for 3 miles around town, then 40 miles home going 80mph. Then after that stretch, I had to drive Highway 17 which is 20 miles of hills and twisties, and even after leaving it in 3rd while going 70 mph uphill, the car STILL pulled that mileage. Ahh, being slow is paying off.
