OK I had my thrust arms done about a year ago (lemfoerder w/750 bushings)
But my passenger side shock blew (Bilstein Touring) and I drove the car for awhile after. Now my lower control arm ball joint is broken, and the thrust arm seems very loose plus the rubber boot is cracked open.
My question is can I replace only the passenger side thrust arm since the drivers side is still nice and tight and less than a year old?

Well......they say they should be replaced in pairs which is why I ask.
but since it was a short time between replacement, you could probably get away with it.
Are you going to replace the struts in pairs?
Vee ave vays of dealing vid your kind...........
all this talk (over a long length of time and a lot of posts) about bilsteins failing is making me nervous!

Personally I wouldn't worry about the Bilsteins. I had a set on my E28 from 1987 and they are still great today. Just my experience, but from what I understand they can last a very long time.Originally Posted by BillionPa

This was a bilstein touring (twin tube) that failed, it didn't last 8 months with an eibach sport spring.
I'm replacing both front struts with bilstein sports, hopefully they'll last.
What a kick in the nuts when it takes out 2 new control arms, but I shouldn't have continued to drive it on a blown shock, that was stupid.
